A-Ray
Surround Sound Support
This unique, portable microphone support allows the user to place five microphones at distances from 50 cms to 2 meters apart in different configurations. The construction uses a central rectangular axis and special sliding nodes with toothed flanges and telescopic arms. It can be quickly set up and tightened using lever knobs. The ARAY can be hung or mounted on a stand. Many configurations including Decca Tree, INA and other well known array formats can be realised. Through remounting, the nodes perpendicular to each other a 3 dimensional array can be made. The ARAY is light and very strong and folds down a small portable package. Users include Austrian television ORF, Japan Radio and other users experimenting with surround sound formats.
Mini-Ray
The MINIRAY uses the same
components as the ARAY but is mounted on a stand and has only two arms. Three microphones can be mounted, and the distance apart varied by the folding arms and
sliding nodes, from zero to
up to 2 meters in a stereo
configuration. Using the
middle position a Decca Tree configuration can be realised.
Through fitting of a second
node set (not included) at right angles the MINIRAY can realise a 4/5 mike orthogonal array. |
